Customer testimony regarding Melaleuca products and autism

Well.. Here is a customer testimony from awhile back from a customer who has a child with autism and how our Melaleuca products have made their lives a little easier.

My son has sensory integration disorder with speech problems and I can say that I am grateful every day that I decided to remove the toxins from our home. His eczema was healed with 24 hours (thanks to our laundry detergent, safer body wash and lotion) and his nose no longer runs all the time.

This article is very detailed and I cannot wait to try some of the tips she mentioned below and see if it helps - especially since I already have all of these items in my home already.

When you have valuable information, it's important to share it with those you love and care about...

It's been a while since I've updated you all on our progress. As you may recall, our son Tony (who is now 13 yrs old) is autistic. Autism is a developmental disability that impacts normal development of the brain in the area of social interaction and communication skills.

Autism is a difficult thing to understand. Doctors and experts still do not know everything there is to know. Yet, as a parent of an autistic child, that's exactly what you want—to know everything so you can fix it. There are still many mysteries surrounding autism. The most important thing to remember through it all is that there is hope. Autism isn't a death sentence. There have been many advancements in the last few years and many autistic children have gone on to lead wonderful, rich lives. So, if you are a parent of an autistic child, do what I do... take a deep breath and say quietly to yourself every day: "There is Hope".

Sadly, Autism is far too common. Autism effects 1 in 250 births, and is three to four times more prevalent in boys than girls. This means that 1.5 million Americans are believed to have some form of autism. No one knows what causes Autism.
Children and adults with autism typically experience difficulty with:
· communication, both verbal and nonverbal.
· making and maintaining consistent eye contact with others.
· attention span.
· social skills. Autistic people have a strong propensity toward exclusive activities.
· routines or repetitive behaviors, i.e. obsessively repeating words or body movements, or arranging belongings in a very specific way.
· self-help skills, such as toileting, feeding, dressing, brushing teeth, etc.
One person with autism may have very different symptoms and behaviors than another. Because of these differences, doctors now think of autism as a "spectrum" disorder, or a group of disorders with a range of similar features. A person with mild autistic symptoms is at one end of the spectrum. A person with severe symptoms is at the other end of the spectrum. Because of this, autism is now often called autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Although no one day is the same, I can say that every day is a journey. Please share this information with your friends, neighbors, business associates, and anyone who's life may be touched by autism. Most will say their lives are good, even with this disorder in their lives... but some of us can say our lives are GREAT and we have the help of some fantastic products that are allowing our children to heal their bodies from the inside out. I'm proud to say that Tony is currently medication-free and is progressing every single day. We realize that we still have a long road ahead of us. Melaleuca has also allowed me to work from home for the past 5 years. So, when "life" happens, I can always count on my strong, residual income. And the best news is, it's only going to get better!
Here are just a few of the ways that Melaleuca products can enhance the lives of autistic children:
1. GET RID OF ALL TOXINS IN THE HOME. I can not stress how important this is. Convert your home to Melaleuca's EcoSense products. These kids have a very, very low tolerance to chemicals and it affects their behavior. Their behavior is very unpredictable -- at any age. Getting rid of poisonous household products will reduce the stress load in your lives.
2. Take full doses of the Vitality for Life products daily. If your child can not swallow pills, give him/her 1 chewable VitaBear for every 25 lbs. If your child can swallow pills, give him/her the Vitality Gold packets or the Vitality for Life packets. Get as much as you can into their system! There are no other vitamins on the market with this PATENTED DELIVERY PROCESS called Fructose Compounding. It allows the minerals to be absorbed at the cellular level. Now, getting your child to take these vitamins may not always be easy, and they won't always want to take them all... but remember: autism is a creature of habit. Once you establish this as a habit, you are hom e free! Don't give up! It is VERY worth the fight! It's up to YOU to create this habit.
3. Take 3-4 capsules of Provex Plus daily. This will alleviate allergy symptoms all year round and allow them to concentrate. It's also used to help symptoms of ADD/ADHD and other behavioral issues. Due to the super antioxidants in the Provex line, this will allow you to stop any/all allergy medications over time and with the help of your physician.
4. Take 4-6 Phytomega daily. Research shows that Omega-3's are brain food. In 1995, researchers reported that children with ADHD and similar behavioral problems had significantly lower concentrations of key fatty acids. Additional support comes from evidence that low plasma omega-3 levels in boys are associated with behavior problems, temper tantrums, sleep disorders plus focus and learning challenges. There's also many clinical trials that have reported using a fish oil supplement in children with autism or Asperger's Syndrome. The great news it that Phytomega has both fish oil and Omega-3's! We have seen an incredible language burst and conversation skills while using this product.
5. Use Tough & Tender for bath time. Tony will still swallow the bath water at times, and now I don't have to worry about the chemicals in bubble bath or any other bath product. Tough & Tender is wonderfully soothing and it leaves his skin baby soft, due to the natural properties of Melaleuca oil. It's inexpensive and makes tons of bubbles in the tub. Baths are Tony's "escape" or relaxing time --- and he is known to take 3-4 baths a day sometimes.
6. Use Pain-a-trate at bedtime. This not only calms him, but it helps him breathe easier. I apply it to his chest, his legs and even his feet. He loves it! It's great for his sensory needs. It has a warming effect (due to the penetration of the actual Melaleuca oil in the product) and has a nice, calming smell.
7. Spray bedding/pillows everyday with diluted Sol-U-Mel. This will kill dust mites, mold, mildew and other hidden germs that can "fog" their brain. (Again, it's the natural fungicide properties of the Melaleuca oil in this products that kills mold and mildew on contact)
Parents of autistic children are looking for a better quality of life for their child, whom they love and adore just as any other child. If you know someone who's touched by autism, please take the time to introduce them to Melaleuca. They will thank you, I promise you that. These simple, inexpensive changes have made all the difference in our little corner of the world. Thank you, Melaleuca!

What is wrong with people??

So I had an appointment set today at 1:00 with a lady who wanted to see one of our online overviews about working from home. This person is supposedly desperate for an income, can't find a job... Called her at 12:57 and she is mumbling, getting out of the shower and asks me again what time she needs to log on - acting inconvenienced that I said "in 3 minutes" I encouraged her to log in late because I have the link to the first video. I kept checking in every so often and she never made it. I do not think that I will be calling her back to reschedule - LOL!

I always wonder why it is that some people are so disrespectful towards us moms who have successful businesses at home. If they were going to an interview with someone who was going to give them a set schedule to work, decide for them how much they could earn, and fire them at will, Oh my!, they would go out and buy a new outfit, have a perfect resume, drive across town and be there early, and try their best to impress the interviewer. But I can help them and offer them a way to stay home with their kids, not have to pay for daycare, work when they want to work, set their own goals, and have the peace of mind that there will NEVER be a lay off. I always say that you should keep an open mind and keep looking until you find something that you can be passionate about - and be grateful to anyone who attempts to help you along the way.

Luckily, I had a delightful lady listen in this evening who has a lot of common sense and such a good reason to need to work from home. And then I listened into the recorded team call that I missed this morning because we were at swimming lessons. Everything has evened out and I can be motivated for tomorrow.

Finally back!

Well.. It has been a long time hasn't it. This mom of 3 has been a little busy the last 6 months. I thought that the summer time was going to be an awesome time for me to have more time to myself and to be able to focus on my business. What was I thinking?? A husband and 3 children all out of school just makes a lot more work and chaos for us moms. This 2nd week of July has seemed to be the toughest yet - the kids are fighting a lot and seem to be ready to separate from each other and go back to school and the 97 degree weather has not been helping. There is not a mom that I have talked to this week that isn't counting the days until the kids go back. And we love our kids, but want to see them happily going to school with their friends instead of being bored and having noone to play with.

Anyway, I am looking forward to getting back into a routine and sharing more information on my Blog. I have learned so much in the last 6 months and am leaving for Minneapolis in 2 weeks for my company's big convention!! It is the first time I have left my kids overnight ever!! I am slightly nervous about it and know that it will be so hard to leave them, but I am also excited to meet more of my WAHU teammates and attend some workshops.

Have a very busy day tomorrow - taking one child to speech and the other two to the park, then gymnastics in the evening, and hopefully getting some quiet time to work inbetween. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!!

my crazy day

Well the promotion that my company was having ended today and here is how my day went.

-My 1st grader had a Christmas play at 8am and this is the one day that the boys decided to sleep past 6:30. We fought traffic in the rain and made it in time to see most of it.
-Stopped by the grocery on the way home and left the umbrella at home = one drenched mommy, boys, and groceries.
-Called my mentor and received a call from someone who is thinking about starting a business - she had more questions...
-While I was on this call, the boys worked very hard at emptying out all the bedding chips out of our new guinea pig's cage all over our carpet. Spent the next 20 minutes vacuuming and moving the new pet to the kitchen.
-Sent out a few text messages and checked my email. Responded to a few questions about my business
-Lunch time and dirty diapers. The boys only wanted the gummy bugs out of their kids cuisine tray and picked at the rest.
-Tried twice to get my two year old to nap - made a phone call inbetween attempts.
-Called a new business partner to see if I could do anything to help and ended up talking for a half hour. The boys now decided to dump out all the guinea pigs food and mix it into the bedding...
-Picked up my daughter from school and finally got my two year old to nap after we got home.
My husband had brought home one of these bakugan toys from school to show my son and the boys both wanted it and fought terribly all night until he finally ended up taking them to target to buy some more.
-I stayed home with my daughter for bath, homework, story, bed...
-2 loads of laundry later and I am finally sitting down at the computer to do a little advertising and send out a newsletter to my team.

This is what the life of a work at home mom is really like. I work whenever I get the time to. Even though there is always something going on around the house, I work phone calls and emails into my day. It is great to stay home with the kids and even more wonderful to not have to miss them or pay for daycare, but you do have to be a pretty good muli-tasker and be self motivated to make it work.
